Ekboo

Ekboo is a plugin for BlackBerry® Messenger (BBM) able to protect the privacy of textual conversations (chats) between two BBM™ users.
Ekboo is a BBM "connected application".
The BBM-connected applications are applications for BlackBerry that through a development kit (SDK) provided by RIM, are able to exploit the features provided by BBM chat 


Encryption

Ekboo’s main feature is data confidentiality, in fact Ekboo users communicate using encrypted messages with RSA asymmetric key algorithm (512 bit encryption)


Main Features

Through Ekboo you can contact the contacts that are on your BlackBerry Messenger list and invite them to download the application if they have not already installed it and then to execute it. Only when Ekboo is started the first time, it configures the environment and requires a reboot of the device.
 
When you first start the application, it shows an empty contact list. The user may at his discretion, invite to Ekboo some or all contacts that are already on the BBM list.


Ekboo offers additional features that make it a powerful tool that can make communication very efficient and able to adapt to various conditions of use and operational situations.


Exchange of keys on the fly

The possibility to generate and exchange new keys at any moment during the conversation increases the security. 

 
Notifications

Ekboo, in a transparent manner to the user, communicates the receipt and reading of every message sent to the recipient even in case of temporary unread messages. (See textbomb).

Textbomb

These are temporary posts that can be forwarded to the user and are displayed for a preset timeon the recepient’s chat.
Once the preset time expires,  messages are deleted and when the user has not been able to read them before their expiry, the sender is notified through an error symbol.
Textbomb mode can be enabled or disabled, the latter is the default mode. It is possible to configure a single delivery in textbomb mode or the whole chat without having to select this feature on a per-message basis.
 


Remote Clear Chat

Ekboo users has the option to cancel the conversation with another user through a command in the menu of the conversation even without the user’s permission.




Panic Button

By pressing a configurable digit for more than 5 seconds Ekboo allows you to cancel and close all the currently undergoing conversations

Pin lock chat
It is possible to configure a pin to block access to chats to unauthorized people

Encrypted File Transfer
With Ekboo, you can send and receive files of any kind. Ekboo has been developed so that large files, such as videos, photographs and work documents, can be sent and received with the highest security.
Ekboo can save file in secure mode using Aes-256 algorithm

To increase the security, all conversations and contents generated are not stored anywhere on the device. Whenever the device or application are rebooted, all Ekboo data will be lost.
