Kat Light

A flashlight doesn't have to be boring... this is video-light flashlight themed with a colorized version of John Tenniel's 1865 illustration of the Cheshire Cat.

The Kat Light uses the video camera app to control the light, allows you to leave the default light setting OFF, and just turns the light on temporarily while you're using the flashlight, then keeps it from timing out as it normally would.  For touchscreen users, there's an added menu option to freeze screen rotation so the light won't flick out for a second when you turn the phone.

Display elements change color as the battery gets lower, and it vibrates briefly when the battery is getting close to the point where you couldn't make calls.

If you don't want a cat grinning at you while using the flashlight, there is a non-themed version, "Magnesium Flashlight", optionally with emergency lights and bright strobe.

"Didn't work":  Video camera light default setting must be Off, and app must have "Input Simulation" permission.  Go to Options/Applications, hilight app, select Edit Permissions in menu, set Interactions to Allow.
